Cathy A. Brush

Cathy Ann Brush, a beloved figure to many, was born on January 2, 1959, in Dayton, Ohio. She departed this life peacefully on March 28, 2025, after a courageous three-year health struggle. Cathy’s enduring spirit and love for those around her will be profoundly missed.

A devoted wife to her late husband, Don Brush, Cathy radiated a caring nature that touched the lives of all she encountered. Her personality was marked by a delightful sense of humor and determined spirit. A longtime member of Miami Shores Baptist Church, Cathy was deeply committed to her faith and loved the Lord, serving her community with dedication and grace.

Cathy was not only a wonderful sister to her siblings, but she also nurtured special relationships with her family. She is survived by her loving siblings: Linda Thomas, Trish Starnes, Joyce Thomas, and Terry Thomas. Additionally, she cherished her role as a stepmother to Rob Brush and Jon Brush. Cathy had a special bond with her nieces, Carrissa (Fred) Wolfe and Chelsea Thomas, with whom she enjoyed creating arts and crafts, showcasing her creative spirit.

Her love for animals and passion for vacationing in Myrtle Beach were evident throughout her life, reflecting her joyful and adventuresome soul. Cathy also held a special place in her heart for her dear cousin, Connie Pociech, and maintained strong connections with many other family members and friends who admired her kindness and warmth.

Cathy’s legacy is one of compassion and determination. She will be remembered not just for her devotion to family, but for the beautiful impact she made in the lives of everyone she met. Cathy leaves behind a treasured memory in the hearts of her surviving family and friends, who will carry her spirit forward.

A memorial gathering will be held by the family at a later date. Cathy will be laid to rest with her husband at Willow View Cemetery in Dayton.
