Age 90, of Brookville, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2006, following a brief illness.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur LeRoy Newbauer, in July, 1999.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol J. Alexander of Kettering; sister-in-law, Cora Schroeder of Union, nephew, Donald Schroeder and family of Circleville and Florida; niece & husband, Shirley & John Upright and family of Idaho; grandson & wife, John & Nanette of Pennsylvania; granddaughter & husband, Susan & Brian Cronenwett of New Lebanon; great grandchildren, Cole Alexander, Paige Alexander, Robert Johnson & wife, Tammy, Lucas Johnson & wife, Cindy, Judy Cronenwett; great great grandchildren, Preston Wilhelm, Brandon Wilhelm, Jennifer Johnson; and many other family members and many good friends she knew from Salem Church of God and Brookhaven Nursing & Care Center.
Catherine was a member of Salem Church of God, Clayton, for the past 85 years. She worked for General Motors in Moraine for 37 years, retiring in 1976. Catherine was an avid organic gardener and creative seamstress, and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
The family gives special thanks to the staff of Brookhaven for the love and care they consistently provided; thanks also to Hospice of Dayton.
The family will be receiving friends from 10 – 11 a.m., Sat., Nov.11th at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Brookhaven Activities Fund or Hospice of Dayton.
