Catharine Ruth Amerson

Catharine Ruth Amerson, age 95, formerly of Cincinnati, OH passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at home. She was born August 24, 1924 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania to Frank and Mary (Gorsky) Nikodem.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Mary (Steven) Strong; seven grandchildren, Jason, Melanie, Theresa, Katherine, John, Matthew and Joshua; four great grandchildren; and other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of over 30 years; a son, John Amerson; a daughter, Diana Upson; and four brothers and three sisters.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 from 12 Noon to 1:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Funeral Service will follow the visitation at the funeral home at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow services at Butler County Memorial Park, Trenton, OH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ruth's name to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave. Floor 17 Chicago, IL 60601.
