Cassie A. Hayes

Cassie A. Hayes, born on January 21, 1962, in Dayton, Ohio, passed away after a lengthy illness on September 7, 2024. She was a devoted sister, aunt, and friend, remembered for her vibrant spirit and deep love for her family.

Cassie was a proud graduate of John H. Patterson Cooperative High School, where she completed her studies in 1980, before going on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree from Central State University in 1989. Her commitment to education exemplified her determination and ambition, qualities that inspired those around her. She worked numerous jobs until her retirement.

In addition to her academic achievements, Cassie had a passion for sports, particularly as an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns. Her enthusiastic support for her team brought her immense joy and forged connections with fellow fans throughout her life. She had a love for music, and sang in the church choir.

Cassie was preceded in death by her mother, Rosalie Jackson, whose memory she carried with her throughout her life and beloved dog, Baby Girl.

She is survived by her loving sister and brothers, Wanda Harley, Christopher (Lisa) Jackson, and Allen Jackson; as well as her cherished dog, Chaka. Cassie was also a beloved aunt to five nephews, two great-nephews, and one great-niece. Her familial bonds extended beyond her immediate relatives, as she had many other relatives and friends who held a special place in her heart-including Britney Edwards, Chime' Redick-Ross, and Karona Vest.

Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering support for her loved ones will be dearly missed. Cassie’s legacy of love and loyalty will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 20th from 2:30-3:30pm at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH 45424. The service will follow at 3:30pm.
