Carroll Roger Saunders

Carroll Roger Saunders, 85, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2024 surrounded by family and friends.  Loving husband of Ruth Saunders for 44 years, cherished father of Linda (Ron) Kemp, Melissa "Sam"Saunders and Sherri DeWine, adored grandfather of 7 grandchildren and great grandfather of 15 and beloved brother of Gary (Judy) Saunders, Linda (Mark) Richardson and Teresa (Gordy) Hiles.  He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  He will be missed by all who knew him.  

Carroll was preceded in death by his parents Hubert and Marcella Saunders, son Larry Allen Jackson and grandson Stephen Jackson. 

Carroll was born on September 23, 1938 in Jamestown, Ohio.  He proudly served our nation in the United States Army.  He also served as a volunteer fireman for Silvercreek TWP in his early years.  He worked as a seasoning technician for Bob Evans Farms for 42 years.  He also worked as a Wal-Mart greeter for 14 years at the store in Xenia, Ohio.  All of his customers loved seeing his smiling face when they walked through the doors.

Carroll enjoyed golfing, bowling, sprint car races and harness horse racing. His favorite time was spent with his family and friends. 

Public visitation will be held at Jamestown Church of Christ (152 W Washington St, Jamestown, OH 45335) on Friday June 21, 2024 at 11:00 am with memorial service to follow at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in Carroll's memory to the Jamestown Church of Christ.
