With heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss, we celebrate Carrie Cathleen Parry whose life embodied the purest essence of love, generosity, and compassion. Carrie passed away on April 13, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of selflessness and unwavering devotion to her family, friends, community, and faith.
Carrie was born on September 30, 1973, in Indianapolis to Jesse Ray and Sandra Faye Craft. She was a 1992 graduate of New Palestine High School in New Palestine, Ind., and a 1996 graduate of Ball State University. She later met the love of her life, Adam Christopher Parry, and they married on June 25, 2005, and resided in the Dayton, Ohio area. She was a member of the Centerville Church of Christ.
Carrie is survived by her husband, Adam, and their two children, Isaac and Jeffrey, of Beavercreek, Ohio; parents, Jesse and Sandra Craft of Terre Haute, Ind.; sister, Kelly Walker and her husband, Kenny, and their children, Charlie, Chase, and Hollis, of Terre Haute; father-in-law, Gary Parry, of Frisco, Texas; sister-in-law, Katie Lacore and her husband, Steven, and their daughter, Eleana Rose, of Aubrey, Texas; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Donald Nance and Evelyn Tipton, her paternal grandparents, Reuben and Esse Craft, and mother-in-law, Katrin Parry.
Throughout her life, Carrie exemplified the true meaning of service, dedicating herself to putting others' needs before her own and her heart overflowed with generosity and empathy. Her servant heart knew no bounds as she tirelessly gave of herself to uplift those around her. Whether through lending a listening ear, offering a helping hand, delivering food, organizing donations, or sending cards, she touched countless lives with her boundless kindness and genuine love for others.
Above all, Carrie cherished her role as a mother with a fierce and unconditional love. Isaac and Jeffrey were the very heartbeat of her existence, and she poured every ounce of her being into nurturing, supporting, and guiding them through life's journey. Her love knew no limits, and her children were blessed to have her unwavering presence as a source of strength and encouragement.
Central to Carrie's life was her profound faith and love for the Lord. Her Christianity was not merely a set of beliefs but a way of life, one marked by humility, grace, and an unwavering commitment to serving others. She bore witness to her faith not through words alone but through her actions, leaving an indelible mark of love on all who had the privilege of crossing her path.
Beyond her compassionate nature, Carrie was also a woman of formidable intellect and strong convictions. Her keen mind and sharp wit made her a captivating conversationalist, while her unwavering principles underscored her strength of character. Though she possessed a strong will and was unafraid to voice her opinions, her warmth and sincerity endeared her to all who knew her.
Carrie lived with a song in her heart and her passing leaves a void that can never be filled. While she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched and the hearts she forever changed.
In the words of Philippians 2:3-4, "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others." Carrie's life was a living testament to these words, and her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love and light she so freely shared with the world.
