Carrie P. "Babe" Wackler
Age 51, of Troy, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2011, after a courageous six-year battle with cancer.
Carrie was a Native Alaskan having been born in Fairbanks, Alaska to Ronald & Dolly (Gallahorn) Powers. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald "Buck" Powers.
Carrie is survived by two sons, Ted (Andrea) Wackler and Travis Wackler; two grandchildren, Jacob "Jake" and Gianna "GiGi" Wackler; one sister, Margaret "Tinker" (Rick) Rasley; one sister-in-law, Marlys Powers; two nephews, Jason & Ron Powers; uncle, Gene Love; and by her extended family & many good friends.
Carrie was a Professional Salesperson. Her last job with the Vectren Dayton Air Show as director of sales. Prior to that she worked with the Polar Company; and she was employed by U. S. Airways for many years in many capacities and prior to that she worked for Yellow Book USA. Carrie was also an avid sportsperson that enjoyed skiing, ice skating, sky diving and she loved working out whenever possible. She was also a talented cook and will be remembered for her Cheese Danish.
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, March 18 at the Living Word Church, 926 East National Road, Vandalia, Ohio. The family will be receiving friends following the memorial service.
