Davis, Carrie Mae, age 67 of Dayton, formerly of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky went home to the Lord on April 3, 2014.
She was born August 18, 1946 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Norris Sr. and grandmother, Annie Mae Garrett. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband of 48 years, Larry R. Davis; daughter, Kinyatta (Rontaye) Johnson; son, Anthony L. Davis; very special granddaughter, Ronnae M. Johnson; oldest granddaughter, Christian Davis; God daughter, Rhonda Sharpe; mother, Mable Norris of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; siblings, Georgia Ann (Donald) Gay of Mt Sterling Kentucky, Harry Jr. (Brenda) Norris of Winchester, Kentucky, Dorothy (Kennedy) Coleman of Dallas, Texas, Terrie (Richard) Curry of Louisville, Kentucky, Derwood Norris of Richmond, Kentucky, Wilbert (Rhonda) Norris of Denver, Colorado; and a host of other family and friends.
Carrie accepted Jesus Christ early in her life.
She became an active member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Dayton, Ohio 48 years ago where she was known for her grace and kind heart.
She was an active member of the Usher Board and the Culinary Committee.
Carrie graduated from Dubois High School in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky in 1964 and immediately entered Morehead State University. She later moved to Dayton, Ohio and became a certified surgical technician at St. Elizabeth Hospital where she was employed for over 35 years.
After the closing of the hospital, Carrie received an offer as a supervisor in surgical processing at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio where she retired after 7 years of employment.
Services for Carrie M. Davis will be held Tuesday April 8, 2014 at the Shiloh Baptist Church, 3801 Fairbanks Avenue, Dayton, Ohio with the Rev. Timothy D. Newkirk officiating.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. with final disposition at the Dayton National Cemetery following the service.
