Carolyn M. Spicer

Carolyn M. Spicer, a beacon of kindness and compassion, passed away on January 7, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on June 15, 1954, Carolyn was an extraordinary woman whose selfless nature enriched the lives of all who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 51 years, Manuel Spicer Sr., her devoted children, Manuel Spicer Jr., Daniel (LaDawna) Spicer, and Kenneth "Andy" Spicer. As a grandmother, Carolyn embraced her role wholeheartedly and positively flourished in it, leaving behind grandchildren, Tyler (Cassandra) Spicer, Andrew (Zowie) Spicer, Dylan (Alison) Spicer, Hunter Spicer, Jacob Spicer, Chloe Spicer, and Nevaeh Spicer. She also cherished the joy of being a great-grandmother to four great-grandchildren, whose laughter and love filled her heart with pride. Carolyn's bond with her siblings—Michelle Helt, Darlene, Kenny, Shirley, Marlene, and Cheryl—was robust and meaningful, as they shared countless precious moments together. Additionally, Carolyn will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends whose lives she touched with her generous spirit.

Carolyn had an adventurous soul, always drawn to the great outdoors where she found peace in fishing and delight in nurturing her garden. Her passion for nature mirrored her compassionate and empathetic personality. She was not just the glue that held her family together; she was a mentor and a leader whose uplifting presence inspired those around her. Carolyn was known for her kindheartedness, her loving touch, and her remarkable ability to bring joy into the lives of others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Peyton and Mildred Helt, as well as her siblings Walter Peyton-Helt, Karen Helt, and Charlene Peyton. Although they are no longer present, their love and memories will continue to resonate through the stories Carolyn passed down to her family.

As we mourn the loss of this incredible woman, we gather to celebrate her life and the legacy she leaves behind. Services to honor Carolyn will be held at Newcomer North Dayton Chapel, located at 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424. Visitation will take place on January 14, 2025, from 12:00pm to 1:00pm, followed by a funeral service at 1:00pm. Following the service, Carolyn will be laid to rest at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Carolyn M. Spicer will forever be remembered as a loving wife, an amazing mother, a wonderful grandmother, and a compassionate force of nature. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, inspiring them to embody the selfless love and kindness she exemplified throughout her life.
