Carolyn Smith

Carolyn Smith, age 77 of Huber Heights, passed away peacefully September 22, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in August 24, 1940 in Jellico, TN to the late Roscoe and Helen Mary (Carter) Lambdin. In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Lambdin.

She is survived by her husband, Dannie Smith; children, Carol Meholick, Paul Bunch, David Bunch, Robert Smith, Debra Smith and Tammi Knecht; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 2 nieces, Stephanie Morris-Collins and Marylee Perry-Underwood; sister-in-law, Connie McCullough.

Carolyn was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was known by her late mother-in-law as "The Great One." She enjoyed life to the fullest and loved everyone that was part of her life. Carolyn's favorite holiday was Christmas and truly believed that Santa was real. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and needle point. Carolyn found her true love and married him 34 years ago and were side by side until her last breath.

We will dearly miss her, but we find comfort knowing she will be forever held in the arms of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd. where a funeral service will begin at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow the service at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens, Brookville.
