Carolyn Sue Rider

Carolyn Sue Rider, age 82 of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Monday, April 20, 2020. She was born January 19, 1938 in Jamestown, Ohio.
Carolyn grew up in the Jamestown, Bowersville, Paintersville- in the Greene County, Xenia area. She attended Greenview South Elementary School. She attended the original Xenia High School where she was active on the ping pong, volleyball and fencing teams.
Prior to the tornado, Carolyn worked at the Frisch's in Xenia and the IT Pizza House. She then moved to Dayton where she later retired from the Dayton Public School System.
She enjoyed bicycling, reading, motorcycling, and working on her family ancestry.
She was very proud of her family and loved them very much. She especially enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille Phillips; father, George Miller; son, Eric James Rider; and brother, Wayne Alan Reed.
Carolyn will be missed by her loving husband of 62 years, Charles H. Rider; four children, Cindy Sue Rider Clements, Charles H. Rider, Jr., Earl Lee Rider and Michelle Marie Rider Brodnick; 11 grandchildren, Jerry Lee Clements, Jr., Kristin Lynne Clements, Matthew James Clements, Chelsea Morgan Clements, Trevor O'Bryant, Casey Ross Rider, Carlie Dawn Rider Johnson, Cody Lee Rider, Carrie Sue Rider Filiaggi, Stephen Frank Brodnick and William Henry Brodnick; 10 great grandchildren, Lenora and Logan Clements, Noah and Elijah Reinhardt, Blaine and Brady Baker and Brees Clements, Bria and Parker O'Bryant and Oliver Boston Johnson; and sister, Joy (Ralph) DeMuth.
Services for Carolyn will be private with burial at Valley View Memorial Gardens.
