Carolyn Jean Mineer, age 85, of Vandalia, passed away March 29, 2024. She was born February 12, 1939 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Robert and Katherine Bierley. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her son, Bobby Mineer; grandchildren: Houston and Austin Mineer.
Jean is survived by her loving husband of nearly 66 years, Bill Mineer; sons: Scott Mineer (Gina), Jamie Mineer and Stephen Mineer (Ming); grandchildren: Matthew (Chelsea), Troy and Dylan; great-grandson, Van; brothers: Bobby Bierley (Judy) and Howard Bierley (Patty); sisters: Sharon Henry (Bob) and Jeanette Martin; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jean retired from L.M. Berry Company after 30 years of service. She was a devout Christian and taught Sunday school for over 50 years. She enjoyed sewing, singing in the choir, studying the Bible and laughing, but most of all Jean loved spending time with her family. She was a very humble, stoic, wonderful woman who was loved by all who knew her. Jean was a devoted wife, a loving mother and caring grandmother.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm on Friday, April 5, 2024 at New Vision Church, 950 Helke Road, Vandalia, where a celebration of life service will begin at 7:30 pm.
