Carolyn Louise Thompson Thyer, age 87, passed away November 21, 2010 in Kettering, Ohio.
She was born January 21, 1923, in Pleasant Hill, Ohio the daughter of Hermena and C.V. Thompson. Carolyn graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1947 with a BS in education. After graduating, she taught for a short time in Gettysburg, Ohio. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Piqua, Ohio and a volunteer with Meals On Wheels.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roger Thyer and her step son, William Thyer.
She is survived by two sons, Chris Appleton, Yellow Springs, Ohio; Tom Appleton, Centerville, Ohio; two daughters, Marty Ernstoff, Cheshire, Connecticut; Cynthia Soller, Boardman, Ohio; two step sons, James Thyer, Charlotte, North Carolina; Don Thyer, Dayton, Ohio; and thirteen grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
