Tappendorf, Carolyn I, age 61, passed away from pancreatic cancer on Friday, July 27, 2012, at her home in Huber Heights, Ohio. She was born October 29, 1950 in Little Rock, Arkansas, the youngest daughter of Dorothy Louise Orne, and Ralph William Craig.
Carolyn graduated from North High School in Denver Colorado in 1968. She married Lester A. Tappendorf on December 5, 1970. She was a member of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church in Huber Heights, Ohio. Carolyn retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, where she worked as a civilian accounting technician for 21 years, with a total of over 30 years of civil service with the United States Air Force. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and one grandchild, Emma Marie Westphal.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Lester; sister, Alice Thompson; daughter, Heidi Westphal and her husband Kevin Mellon of Falcon, Colorado, son, Arthur Tappendorf and his wife Nancy Tappendorf of Marysville, Ohio; and six grandchildren: Jacob and Joshua Westphal and Aaron, Sarah, Noah, and Rachel Tappendorf.
Memorial services will be held at Spinning Road Baptist Church, 538 Spinning Road, Riverside, Ohio 45431 on Monday, August 6, 2012 at 5:30pm, Pastor Scott Goodman officiating. The burial will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Altamont, Illinois on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 5:30pm.
