Carolyn Selby Bishop

Carolyn Selby Bishop, 75, passed away peacefully in her home, in San Antonio, TX on May 20, 2024. Robert, her faithful husband of 54 years, was by her side. 

Carolyn was born in Amarillo, TX, on June 5th, 1948, to Amel and Kathryn (Peery) Selby Goss. She grew up in west Texas, and graduated from Robert E. Lee HS in Midland, TX, in 1966. She attended Howard County Junior College, and then BYU, where she met Robert. They were married in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on Jan 29th, 1970. They spent most of their married life raising their children in Beavercreek, Ohio. Carolyn taught preschool and worked at the Beavercreek library for many years. She loved crafting and card making. She was involved in her church, and especially liked working in the children’s ministry. When asked, Carolyn said her greatest accomplishment was “her children”, and she never missed a chance to brag about them. She loved being an "Oma" to her grandchildren and her great grandson. Carolyn said she always wanted to end up in Texas, and she did. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Amel Selby; mother, Kathryn Selby Goss; and sister, Sharon Jones. She is survived by her husband, Robert; daughter, Tracy Turner; son, Brad (Heather) Bishop; daughter, Becky Caldwell (Brian Heino); and son, Mark Bishop. Grandchildren, Riley (Madison) and Daylon (Katherine)Turner, Cameron and Brooke Bishop, Sarah (Zach) Christensen, Nicholas Smith, and great grandson, Theo Turner. Sister, Barbara (Roger) Jeffs; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Life will be held in Texas on June 22, 2024, at 6pm, LDS Chapel, 13153 Iron Horse Way, Helotes, TX, 78023. Another Celebration of Life will be held in Ohio,on July 27, 2024. Visitation, from 2-4pm, Prayer Service, at 4pm, Newcomer Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, OH 45432.
