Carol Ann Siroki, age 72, of Dayton, OH passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 4, 2019. Carol was born on April 2, 1947 in McKeesport, PA. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Mack) Patrick and is preceded in death by her beautiful daughter Lisa Ann Rhodes.
When Carol was in 4th grade, she met a boy by the name of Nick, who told her that he would marry her someday. True to his word, Carol and Nick became one through their marriage on November 9, 1966 in Cumberland, Maryland. What started as two would blossom into a family tree with multiple branches which includes six children, 14 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren whom she loved very much.
When her children were young, she was a stay at home mom who helped provide for her family by selling AVON, Home Interiors, Mary Kay, and her home baked desserts. Once her children were older, Carol worked most of her adult life in customer service. Her true passion in life was caring for her family. She would enjoy working alongside her husband Nick in her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens that provided harvest all year long. Over the years, Carol would can various fruits and vegetables from their garden including grapes, beans, and her husband's favorite tomato juice that he looked forward to every year. Her kitchen was the heart of her home. She always made certain that her family had a home-cooked meal every evening after a long day of work and school. She would spend endless hours cooking and baking for not only her family, but her friends and neighbors as well.
The holidays were always extra special in the Siroki household. For Easter, she would have baskets and eggs hidden around the house for her family, no matter the age. She would sit back and giggle while she watched everyone tirelessly look for their well hidden baskets. For Halloween, you didn't just get a little piece of candy, you received a baggy filled to the brim with full size candy bars, a bag of chips, and various other goodies. Thanksgiving was always filled with friends and family, overwhelming love, a whole lot of chaos, laughter, and so much delicious homemade food that the leftovers kept us fed for days. Overall though, Christmas was her most favorite time of year. Although she loved having gifts for everyone to open, the most important thing to her was having her family and friends together and celebrating family traditions, such as having Christmas Eve dinner, decorating the tree, hanging christmas lights, and baking NUMEROUS cookies and desserts for everyone she loved.
Carol leaves behind a legacy consisting of the love of her life, husband of 53 years, and best friend Nicholas Siroki; daughters, Susan Siroki of Farmersville, OH, Christine (Harry) O'Dell of Miamisburg, OH, Laura Arnett of Moraine, OH, and Beth Waters (Clayton Chatterton) of Dayton, OH; son, Nicholas (Lisa) Siroki, of Miamisburg, OH; son-in-law, Bryan Rhodes; brothers, Joseph (Karen) Patrick and George (Sandy) Patrick; Granddaughters, Jennifer (Brandon) Buchanan, Jessica Martinez, Elizabeth Martinez, Kayla (Cody) Rhoades, Emily O'Dell, Olivia O'Dell, Marlena Siroki (Russell Gipe), Meagan Fisher, Molly Siroki, Cheyenne Waters (Castle Carter) and Harley Waters. Carol's door was always open to anyone who needed a hot meal, a place to sleep, or a shoulder to cry on. Her children were always bringing friends to holiday celebrations or just a Sunday afternoon visit and she was always happy to welcome them with loving arms.
