Carol C. Runkle

Carol Christine Cramer Runkle, age 80 of Beavercreek, passed away Monday, March 24, 2025 at Hospice of Dayton. She was being loved by both of her children as she made this transition. She was born August 3, 1944 in Sioux City, lowa the daughter of the late Paul and Margaret Cramer (Muecke).

Carol graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from the University of North Dakota and ultimately a Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counselling from Wright State University. She spent the early part of her career working as a nurse. Prior to retirement she worked in rehabilitation placing people with disabilities in jobs. Her final job was as the Nurse Coordinator for the US Post Office in Columbus. After retirement, she found joy in quilting, going to church, and spending time with her family.

Carol was a faithful member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church for many years. She will be remembered for her commitment and love for her family. She spent a great deal of time at soccer games, crafting with her grandchildren, or feeding them ice cream for dinner. In her final years, her greatest joy was simply enjoying their company. If you asked her, however, how she would most like to be remembered, she would want to remind friends that Jesus died for them and that she had an unfaltering love for the Lord. Her faith was a testament to this love! She had confidence that her forever was eternal and her place in the house of the Lord was going to be filled with joy and celebration. Carol was a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Richard "Dick" Runkle Jr.

Carol is survived by her children, Rob Runkle (Meg) and Kristy Reuber, and her grandchildren, Joshua, Sweetie, Becca, Anna, Nolan, and Weston. She is also survived by six of her seven sisters and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church (4865 Wilmington Pike, Dayton, OH 45440) on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.

Carol will be laid to rest at New Teegarden Cemetery in Ansonia, Ohio with her dear husband, Dick, at a later date.
