ANDREWS, Carol J. "Mimi", age 69, of Dayton, went to be with the Lord Monday, October 4, 2010. She was born January 19, 1941 in Cumberland, MD. Carol was a 1958 graduate of West Alexandria High School, worked at NCR and retired from General Motors, and was currently working at Wright Patterson Air Force Museum. She loved singing with the gospel groups, Ambassadors for Christ and the Gospel Gang. Carol was a member of Brantwood Baptist Church and most recently was practicing with the Sweet Adeline's for a Christmas special. Carol was committed to making sure her grandchildren and neighborhood children knew the Lord.
She is survived by her children, Brenda (Vincent) Slaughter, Dana (Debbi) Andrews, Rhonda (Larry) Keele, Jodi Callahan (Barry MacFarland); grandchildren, Shawn, Tonya, Shondelle, John, Amanda, Matthew, Tamara (Tee Jay), and Paige; great-grandchildren, Austin, Michalynn, Christian, Gabriel; numerous other family and friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Andrews and parents, Harold and Mildred Garland. Pastor Tom Bowman officiating.
Burial will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
