It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Carmon David Lambertson. Carmon David Lambertson, age 80 of Beavercreek, Ohio surrounded by his loving wife and family passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2020. He was born June 24, 1939 in Greenville, Ohio to Carmen and Doris (Wolf) Lambertson.
David is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Sheila (Harper) Lambertson; daughter, Lisa (Ken) Perry; son, Michael (Katrin) Lambertson; grandchildren, Reyanna (Dakota) Sheets, Lauren (Alec) Hare, Emily (Austin Campbell) Perry; Jonas Lambertson, Aaron Lambertson; and great-grandson, Jackson Sheets.
David, (his favored name), graduated from Greenville High School in 1956 and received a bachelor of Electrical Engineering Degree from Tri-State University (Trine University) in 1960. David began his diverse engineering career with Systems Research Laboratories as a research engineer and project manager contributing to important projects in the aerospace field. In the mid-eighties, David became part owner of Engineering Development Laboratories. He also founded Advanced Technical Systems (ATS) in which both companies greatly contributed to aviation technology.
David was an engineer's engineer. There was rarely a repairman in our house. If something was broken, be it lawnmowers, icemaker's, fuse boxes or radios, he would figure out a way to bring life and function back. Usually his repairs would update or improve the existing design. His electronics lab in the basement was crammed with every kind of known and unknown piece of equipment parts and pieces imaginable. Dave (Dad) was extremely creative, being able to find a solution to a problem with a large portion of improvisation, ingenuity and vast technological knowhow.
David touched many lives in his 80 years. He was always there for us, whether it be support through college or helping to buy our first home.
One of my favorite memories of Dad was when he would accompany me very early on cold Sunday mornings to help deliver the Daily Dayton News on my paper route. Afterwards, the two of us would either go and get doughnuts or make pancakes when everyone else was asleep.
He blessed his family and friends with immense generosity, compassion, humor, and creativity; and enriched the lives of everyone who was lucky enough to have known him. His selflessness was beyond compare… a true unsung hero. He will be greatly missed.
For dad, "engineering is the closest thing to magic that exists in the world."
Due to the current environment surrounding the coronavirus, a memorial service will be held at a later date. This information will be updated once services have been scheduled. Thank you for your understanding during this challenging time.
