Carmen M. Pillitteri

Pillitteri, Carmen M., age 95, of Riverside, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Hospice of Dayton.

He was born in Erie, PA where he graduated from Academy High School. Carmen honorably served during WWII in the United States Army 71st Infantry Division. He retired from Elder Beerman (shoe dept.) after many decades of service, was an avid golfer, and enjoyed bowling, dancing and worldwide travel. He was a member of VFW Post 9927 and Immaculate Conception Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Onofrio & Elvira (Aquilino) Pillitteri and brother: Armand Pillitteri. He is survived by his wife: Josephine "JoAnn"; brother: Mike (Donna) of Erie, PA; daughters: Patricia Pillitteri and Pamela Tufts both of Columbus, OH; son: Paul Pillitteri of CA; stepdaughter: Tonia (Jess) Morgan of Nampa, ID; stepsons: Richard Majusick of AZ, Mike (Cindy) Majusick of Centerville, John (Lydia) Majusick of Beavercreek; grandchildren: Joseph Tufts and Mariko Pillitteri; as well as numerous step grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, 2300 S. Smithville Road, Dayton. Reverend Satish Joseph Celebrant. Entombment will follow Mass at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will be receiving friends at the church on Tuesday morning from 9:30 A.M. until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, in memory of Carmen. Arrangements in care of Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel).
