Carmen L. Gillum, 81, of Dayton, OH passed away August 18, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born July 13, 1938 in Boyd County, KY, to the late John and Zetta Gillum.
Carmen retired from Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 125 and was a Baptist preacher at the Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church. He was also a United States Air Force Veteran.
In addition to his parents, Carmen was preceded in death by his wife Gisela Gillum; son, Bert Gillum; and granddaughter Cassie Gillum.
Carmen is survived by his children: Chris Gillum, Dave Gillum, and Martha (Kevin) Butcher; daughter-in-law, Gulseren Gillum; grandchildren: Ozan Gillum, Jerry Gillum, Natasha Butcher and Carson Gillum; siblings: Loretta Johnson and Jeanie Hesling; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2019 from 4-6 pm at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton OH. Funeral service will begin at 6 pm. Burial will be held on Friday, August 23, 2019 at 1 pm Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace, OH.
