Carlene S. Biron

December 20, 1938 — December 20, 2021

Carlene S. Biron passed away December 20, 2021, at the Danbury Senior Living facility in Huber Heights, where she has resided the last few months. She also was a long-time resident of Beavercreek, Ohio from 1979 to 2015.

Born in Montpelier, Vermont on December 20, 1938, she was the daughter of Carl Shepard and Ann Provost. She was married to Edward J. Biron on November 14, 1959, at St. Augustine Church in Montpelier, VT. She graduated from the Mary Fletcher Nursing School, now known as the University of Vermont Medical Center, with her RN license.

Carlene worked full time as a nurse until she was joined in marriage with Edward, and the military life as an Air Force Wife was underway. Upon being assigned to Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio in the late 1970's, Carlene renewed her nursing license shortly after arrival and secured a position as a neonatal RN at Dayton Children's Hospital.

Carlene was many other things as well, a quilter, knitter, sewer, painter, and a pianist. She volunteered for many organizations, such as TWIGS group, and sang in the choir at St. Luke's in Beavercreek. Most importantly, Carlene was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who will be greatly missed by all that knew her. God has truly gained a remarkable woman, and she has been reunited in heaven with her husband of over 60 years.

Survivors include her one brother, Bruce Shepard of Niceville, Florida; one son, Mark Biron of Broomfield, Colorado; one daughter, Cynthia Peyton of Huber Heights, Ohio; and five grandchildren, Ashley Dorsten of Bellbrook, Ohio, Kevin Dorsten of Englewood, Ohio, Courtney Dorsten of Huber Heights, Ohio, Jaxson Peyton of Huber Heights, and Maxwell Peyton of Huber Heights.

A gathering for immediate family only will be held from 11:00am to 11:30am on Friday, January 14, 2022 at the Newcomer Funeral Home in Dayton, where a memorial service will begin at 11:30pm. Following her memorial service, she will be laid to rest with her husband at 12:30pm at Dayton National Cemetery.
