ZAHN, Carl, loving husband and dedicated father, age 85, of Dayton, passed away on January 2, 2016. He is preceded in death by his natural mother, Anna Kraly Zahn; father Frederick Zahn, and mother, Emma Benner Zahn.
Carl is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janice D. Zahn; children, Steven Zahn and Carol Zahn; 3 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild, as well as nieces and nephews here and also in Germany.
He graduated from Parker Co-op High School in 1948. Carl worked at NCR as a tool maker/designer and engineer. He also worked for Rapid Design Service. He camped with his family from coast to coast and border to border, with Myrtle Beach as his favorite destination. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, a lifetime member of the Eintracht Singing Society, Dayton Liederkranz-Turner, and the Shamrock Club, and he was most proud when he was made an honorary Ex-Pupil of the OSSO/OVCH Home, Xenia, OH, Class of 1980.
Family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton where a memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm with Rev.
