Carl Samuel Roberts

Carl Samuel Roberts, age 75, of Riverside, passed away on June 26, 2023. He was born on May 17, 1948 in Leslie County, Kentucky to the late James & Oakie Roberts.
He served his country proudly in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1969, while serving on the USS Guadalcanal. During this time, he was part of the Apollo 9 recovery team. He retired from Dayton Forge & Heat Treating after working for 30 years. Family was important to Carl, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was also an avid Bengal's Fan and enjoyed watching his Westerns and Hallmark movies. He will be dearly missed.
In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his son, Kenny Davis; his siblings: Pauline, Imogene, and Bob; brother-in-law, Robert Belcher Jr.; and his parents-in-law: Martha & Robert Belcher Sr.
He will be remembered by his beloved wife of 52 years, Judy Roberts; his sons: Jim (Terri) Roberts, Johnny (Kelly) Roberts, and Jason (Angela) Roberts; grandchildren: Haillee, Skyler, Kenny Jr., Kenlee, Hayden, Grace, Kyle, Sammy, Alli, Gabe, Jaila (Justin), JC, Jason, Jenna, and Mya; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings: Logan, Eugene, Quentin, Ann, Loretta, and Margie; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, in Dayton, Ohio. A funeral service will begin at 10:00am on Monday, July 3, 2023. Following the service Carl will be laid to rest at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
