Carl Mattern

Carl "The Hippie" Mattern, 67, of Riverside, passed away April 18, 2014 after an extended illness. He was born July 19, 1946 in Burnell, Florida, the son of the late Frank and Elsie Mattern.

Carl worked at Cassano's on Smithville Rd, for 17 years as a driver. He was a friend to anyone who knew him.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Molly Mattern in 1994 and a sister, Carol Hill.

Carl is survived by his wife of 22 years, Lisa (McLaughlin) Mattern; a daughter, Katie (Chris) Perkins; grandchildren, Cameron, Zoey and Baylee Perkins; sisters, Mary Jane (Roger) Fuller, Carrie (Steve) McCarroll; numerous nieces, nephews and many good friends, including two special nephews, Jacob McLaughlin and Daniel Davidson.

A gathering of family and friends will take place from 5-6:30 PM Friday, April 25, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton where a Memorial Service will begin at 6:30 PM Friday.
