Carl L. Marshall Jr. "Butch", age 59, of Harrison Twp. passed away May 16, 2021. He was born April 14, 1962 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Carl L. Marshall Sr. and Frances M. (Smith) Marshall. He was born, raised and spent his life in Dayton, Ohio nurturing relationships with family, friends and neighbors alike.
Carl enjoyed the simple things in life like fishing, working on cars and telling stories until the sun went down. Carl was often known as the first person to call when something went wrong or if you needed a hand...or even needed a good laugh. Didn't matter if it had been weeks or even months since the last conversation, Carl would be there as if no time had passed at all. He never hesitated to tell you exactly what was on his mind without sugar coating things. A good lecture when one is needed, but he also knew how to lighten the mood and get a smile out of anyone. The life of the party so to speak. The most kind, caring, straight shooting, tough as nails, genuinely good guy that you'd ever meet. He wasn't called "The Great Uncle Butch" for any other reason. They definitely broke the mold with this man and to say that he will be missed, is definitely an understatement.
In addition to his parents, Carl L. Marshall Sr and Frances M. (Smith) Marshall, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Carleen Botticelli (Marshall) and Nancy Mooney (Marshall), his daughter Tawny Samons, and his significant other, Consuela (Connie) Mardis.
Carl is survived by his brother Charles (Jan) Marshall and his sister Peg Mullins, son Jarrod Samons, niece Sarah Mooney, nephews Christopher Marshall, Jason and Todd Franklin, and many friends.
Carl will be laid to rest at Willow View Cemetery in Dayton with his father and daughter at a later date.
