He was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War.
Carl is survived by his wife of 40 years, Dr. LaPearl Logan Winfrey; daughter, Anedra Winfrey Jones; 2 granddaughters, Quintan and Tyler; 1 nephew, Stephen (Jamilyn) Winfrey; great niece, Genesis; and great nephew, Noah.
Service and burial will be held in Chicago, IL.
