Carl Anthony Lombard, aged 81, of Beavercreek, Ohio, passed away September 23, 2018, at Heartland of Beavercreek.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rosemary, and four children: Carl Michael (Martha), Susan, Karen, and Thomas. He is also survived by his brother Robert and three granddaughters: Bridget, Olivia, and Audrey.
Carl was born in Youngstown, Ohio, in June, 1937, to Carmen and Mary (Napolitan) Lombard.
He graduated from Youngstown State University with a degree in engineering and then went on to serve in the Army, being based in Germany.
Upon leaving the service in 1962, he came to work at Wright-Patterson AFB as a civil servant. He held positions in the Materials Laboratory and the Aeronautical Systems Division, among others, during the 30+ years he worked there. During this time, he also earned an MBA degree from the University of Dayton in the early 1970's.
After retirement from civil service, he worked for the Universal Technology Corporation and Renaissance Services.
In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, painting, and going to flea markets. Most of all, though, he loved spending time with his three granddaughters.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home in Beavercreek with a Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church on Friday at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Carl's name to the Immaculate Conception Continued Restoration fund 2300 S. Smithville Rd, Dayton, OH, 45420.
