Peter had a diverse range of interests that encompassed drag racing, sports car racing, and skiing in Colorado and New Mexico. Following the Army, he was an avid scuba diver and enjoyed spear fishing.  He particularly enjoyed shooting pool with his son, Michael, at Bargos, where their shared moments became treasured memories. His love for sports and competition was reflected in everything he did.

In his earlier years, Peter was a male model, adding another dimension to his diverse background. He modeled clothing for prominent retailers such as Rike's in the 1960s. Notably, he was the body model for the "Follow Me" statue, an Army memorial located at Fort Benning, GA.

His military service as an Army veteran, where he was a member of the pistol shooting team, brought him numerous awards and accolades, showcasing his discipline and competitive nature.

Prior to 1968, Peter worked at the family printing business, Knab Press, located at 38 N. Jefferson Street in Dayton. He then became a talented auto mechanic whose skill in the trade earned him the respect of many. His remarkable journey included his time behind the wheel in NASCAR in 1977 and 1978, a proud accomplishment he cherished throughout his life. He also raced Corvettes in SCCA events held at famous tracks like Mid-Ohio, Watkins Glen, and Lime Rock, and he completed the 24-hour race in Daytona.

Beyond his automotive expertise, he also served as a ski instructor at Mad River Mountain and Sugarcreek Ski Hills, sharing his love for skiing with others.

A man of few words, Peter's quiet strength and unwavering support were evident to everyone who knew him. He was always there for anyone who needed him, embodying a kind and generous spirit.

He is survived by his son, Michael P. Knab (Jessica); his sister, Carolyn Klum; his sisters-in-law, Donna Knab and Gati Knab; and many friends who will forever hold him in high regard.
