Carl Thomas Heinrich Sr., "Tom," age 75 of Dayton/Cincinnati, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at the Dayton V.A. Medical Center. He was born September 5, 1945 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of the late Anthony and Mary Heinrich.
Tom is survived by his wife of nearly 55 years, Laura; children, Carl Thomas (Pamela) Heinrich Jr., Lisa (Timothy) Gunsauley, Anthony (Karen) Heinrich; grandchildren, Mary Heinrich, Michael Heinrich, Trevor Heinrich, Seth Gunsauley, Tyler (Courtney) Heinrich, Erin Heinrich, Benjamin Heinrich; great granddaughters, Sophia and Avery; siblings, Jack Heinrich, Gerry Heinrich, Marilyn Vonderahe, David (Heidi) Heinrich; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends; and beloved dogs, Poncho, Lefty and Macie.
Tom served on active duty in the United States Marine Corps from January 1964 to February 1968, including combat service in the Republic of Vietnam. He retired from Holland Motor Express after being employed as a truck driver for over 30 years. Tom enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Reds and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Most importantly, he loved being around his family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Newcomer Kettering Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45439). Funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. Burial for immediate family will follow in Dayton National Cemetery with military honors.
