Carl Raymond Goodner, age 80 of Medway, OH passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 2, 2021. He was born October 18, 1940 in Dayton, Ohio to Cecil and Ruth (Luttrell) Goodner. Ray married Cerilda Profitt Combs on July 5, 2004 in Medway, OH.
Carl is survived by his wife Cerilda; a grandson, Michael R. Cox; a step son, Terry (Jean) Combs; a step daughter, Teresa (Shawn) Matthews; two nieces, Angela (Dr. Patrick) Lytle and Lois; a nephew, Jason (Kristina) Goodner; and other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donald Goodner; a sister, Jean Goodner; two step daughters, Beth Ann Cox and Gayle Thompson; a niece, Donna Goodner; two nephews, Raymond Goodner and Michael Goodner; and his first wife, Ruth Dian Cox Goodner.
Ray graduated from Belmont High School and worked as a Service Technician for Coca Cola for 42 years. He was a paramedic with Box 21 Rescue in Dayton, where he started the Cadet Program for underprivileged and at risk teens. Ray was a member of the Fairborn #2641 and New Carlisle #3491 Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was a Boy Scout leader in Dayton for many years. Ray loved traveling, especially out west and was an avid outdoorsman and camper. He was loved by all who met and knew him, never meeting a stranger. He loved his family and his Eagle's family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.
