Carl Lee Gambrell

Carl Lee Gambrell, age 81 of Dayton, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2024 at home surrounded by family. He was born October 18, 1942 in Harlan, KY, the son of the late George and Martha Gambrell.

Carl will be remembered for being a simple, straight forward and kind hearted man. He would do anything for you, including giving you the shirt off of his back in needed. He enjoyed fishing, watching football and the Cincinnati Reds (or more like yelling at them, lol). He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will also be remembered for his love of a very well done burger or steak. Carl was a husband, a father, a Peeps and a true friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy; son, Michael Gambrell; brothers Jerry Gambrell and Larry Gambrell

Carl is survived by his son, Danny Lee (Vickie) Gambrell; grandchildren, Brandon, Kody, Sofia (and their mother, Kimberly Bruens), Alicia, Steven and Crystal; great grandchildren, Avery, John and Tatiana; brother, George Gambrell; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

Public visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton Xenia Rd) on Thursday June 27, 2024 at 5:00 pm with memorial service to follow at 6:00 pm.
