Wiggershaus, Carl Gustave, age 84, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday May 17, 2014. He was born to the late Gustave and Louise Wiggershaus on May 30, 1929. He was a graduate of Hughes High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. He served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War, as well as being a member of the Cincinnati Fire Department. He then joined the City of Dayton Fire Department in 1955, where he served until his retirement in 1981.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Carol Wiggershaus; son, James Phillip Wiggershaus; daughter, Diana Lynn Wiggershaus; brother, Alfred Wiggershaus, and sister-in-law, Gretchen Pearson. He is survived by his sister, Martha Freytag of Cincinnati; brother-in-law, G. James Pearson; daughter, Becky Johnson; son, Tom (Lisa) Wiggershaus; five grandchildren, Matthew White, Destiny (Steve) Schoenberger, Chrystal Grillot, Heidi, and Erich Wiggershaus; six great-grandchildren, Brianna, Andrya, Madelyn, Aurora, Brady, and Autumn; nieces and nephews, Mark (Mickey) Wiggershaus, Gail (Mark) Goode, Kim Jones, Nancy (Bob) Lane, Joanne (Jimmy) Williams, Darlene Freytag, Jim (Sue) Pearson, Heidi (Tim) Kauflin, Robert (Rhonda) Pearson, Melissa (Joe) Lehmann, and Julie Collins, as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Faith Lutheran Church, 3315 Martel Dr., Dayton, where both Carl and Carol served faithfully since 1972. Family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 as well as 1 hour prior to services on Thursday at the church. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Dayton.
