Carl Combs
April 20, 1946 — March 15, 2020
Carl Combs, age 73, of Kettering, Ohio passed away peacefully at Hospice of Dayton after a short illness. He was born in Hyden, Kentucky on April 20, 1946.
Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Combs, mother, Martha Meyer, father, Adam Combs, and granddaughter, Samantha Gephart. Carl is survived by his wife, Sandy; sister, Brenda Copeland; brother, Michael Combs; daughter, Carla Combs (Doug); son, Terry Combs (Karin), and grandchildren, Elizabeth Gephart (Matt), James Shaffer (Ashley), Kenneth Shaffer (Amy), Matt Shaffer (Chy), Nick Shaffer (Ashley), Tyler Combs, Travis Combs (Britt), Ryan Combs (Brittany), Timothy Combs (Kora), and James Combs (Clarissa). Carl is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews, nieces and other family members.
Carl was a 1964 graduate of Stiver's High School, and loved the Stiver's Alumni functions especially the annual Fish Fry. He was a member of Bethany Church of Christ in Kettering, Ohio. The family would like to thank Pastor Damon Reid for his visits and fellowship. Carl was a Machinist for many years and was the owner of Miami Valley Delivery. He was also a Volunteer Firefighter for the city of Kettering.
He loved spending time working on his yard, rearranging the kitchen cabinets and complaining about the Cincinnati Reds losing.
A Celebration of Carl's life will be held at a later date.
