Carl Douglas Benson

Carl Douglas Benson, age 61, of Dayton passed away on September 17, 2023. He was born in Middletown on March 10, 1962 to the late Lonzo and Tommie Benson. In addition to his parents, Carl is preceded in death by his wife, Theresa; brothers, Christopher Benson, Carey "CC" Benson; aunt, Luevern Brown and his beloved service dog, Travis.

Carl is survived by his brothers, Curtis Dwayne (Madgaline) Benson, Coris Lavon Benson; nephews, Steed (Sherrie) Benson, Chad "Christopher" Benson, Cheyne Benson; nieces, Jaliyah Ja'Nae Benson, Shyra Benson, Mariah Benson, Tiara (Tobin) Benson, Brea Benson, Aryia Benson; as well as a host of family and friends.

Carl served in the United States Army. He worked construction for many years and enjoyed being outdoors. Carl was a young musician growing up and always loved music, laughter and bringing smiles to other's faces. No matter what his illnesses had taken from him, Carl remained positive, steadfast and stubborn. Carl will be forever loved and deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
