Caleb Morris

August 17, 1992 — July 30, 2018

Our beloved son, Caleb "Scruffy" Morris, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 30th, 2018, less than 3 weeks from his 26th birthday.

Caleb was born August 17, 1992, in Hamilton, Ohio, to Lori Winkler. We are forever grateful to Lori for choosing life for Caleb, and to God for entrusting Caleb into our care.

Caleb was loved by all of his family and will be greatly missed by us, his parents, Jim and Mary Morris, his sister, Amy Morris, and by his grandparents, Joseph & Barbara Morris and Leonard & Phyllis Seidl, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Caleb will also be missed greatly by his mother, Lori Winkler, his grandmother, Shirley Winkler, his half-sisters, Desiree and Aleena, and his nephew, Jayden.

Caleb always enjoyed spending time with his friends, who we know will miss him too.

Caleb graduated from Bellbrook High School in 2010 and from the Greene County Career Center in 2011.
Although he never had a profession, Caleb found much joy in listening to music and drawing. Expressing himself through art was his passion and it would make him happy to be thought of as a self-employed artist. Growing up, Caleb was a great storyteller and a master of disguise. He loved creating costumes and role-playing. He also enjoyed skateboarding, BMX biking and dirtbiking. Caleb had a great sense of humor and a way with words. "Scruffy" always kept it real. Caleb was often a defender of the underdogs of society and helped out people who we likely will never know. He also enjoyed spending time with children who God placed in his life. He would have been a great father.

In the past several years Caleb struggled with anxiety and depression which led to a long battle with addiction, and as a result he had many serious health complications. We saw God spare Caleb's life multiple times. Although during his life on this earth Caleb never experienced freedom from his troubled thoughts or the chains of addiction, we believe that because he put his faith in Jesus, that he is finally at peace and resting securely in His arms.

We want to express our gratitude to everyone who impacted Caleb's life either through your friendship, your love, your support, or your prayers.
