Burl D. Bruce Jr.

Burl D. Bruce Jr., age 75, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023. He was born on December 4, 1947 in Grayson County, TX to the late Erma and Burl Bruce.
Burl was a graduate of Vandalia Butler High School and Wright State University. He was a Vietnam War Veteran and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1966 to 1968. He retired after 20+ years from DCMC at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
Burl was an avid Bengals fan. In his spare time, he enjoyed golf and fishing. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Steven Bruce and his daughter, Kimberly L. Bruce Vernekar.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Kathy L. Bruce; his grandson, Alexander Vernekar; his siblings, Jeanie (Jim) Martin, Dave (Phyllis) Bruce, Dawn Kenney, Doug (Beth) Bruce; his sister-in-law, Jan Allman and his son-in-law, Rakesh Vernekar. He is also survived by numerous family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fisher House at Wright-Patterson or St. Peters School in Huber Heights.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from 2pm to 3pm with a Celebration of Life service following, all at Newcomer Funeral Home - North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd. Dayton, OH 45424.
