Buna Bernice Sturgill

Buna Bernice Sturgill, age 81, passed away Monday, January 14, 2019 at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born February 12, 1937 to the late Henry and Ora (Roller) Micales in Duffield, VA. Buna was a loving wife and mother who will be deeply missed. She was a devoted member of Grace Baptist Church of Kettering for over 35 years. Buna, along with her husband, Leonard dedicated their time to serving Christ by visiting church members in the hospital, teaching Sunday School and running a church bus route. She was an avid reader of the Bible, memorizing scripture and especially enjoying Psalm 119 as one of her favorites. Buna loved to write poetry, enjoyed nature by watching birds and feeding them, working with flowers and she adored animals. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her step-father, I.G. Leonard; brother, H.E. (Liane) Micales and an infant son and daughter. She is survived by loving husband of 56 years, Leonard Sturgill; son, Paul Sturgill; sisters, Ruby (Hubert) Goins, Monnie (James) Baker, Beulah (Allen) Shipley and Mildred (Paul) Johnson; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Family will receive friends Friday, January 18, 2019 from 10-1 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church of Kettering, 2901 Galewood St, Kettering, OH 45420, where a funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Interment at David's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace Baptist Church of Kettering in her name.
