Bulah (Howell) Dyer, 80, of Washington Township, OH, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Hospice of Dayton.
Bulah was born in Prestonsburg, KY, to Raymond and Josephine Howell on February 13, 1938. She graduated one year early from Prestonsburg High School in 1957 and left the day after graduation for a brighter future in Dayton. Soon after her arrival, she met and later married Bobby Ray Dyer on January 11, 1958 in Dayton.
She was a wonderful, caring, compassionate and Faithful soul who worked tirelessly to please her family and friends. Her family was her highest priority throughout her life. Her ability to maintain a spotless home and yard was only surpassed by her ability to cook… and she could cook. She worked many years at the family business (Robert Dyer's Weston Beauty College) as a partner, general manager, accountant, and instructor. She later worked several years and retired from Elder-Beerman in the traffic department. She was an avid Bridge player, still playing weekly with a core group of her closest friends. She also participated regularly in the Silver Sneakers program at the Kettering YMCA.
Bulah is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Josephine Howell; brothers, Buford and Raymond (Jim); sisters, Wanda Fraser and Lillian Holcomb.
Bulah is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Bobby Ray Dyer; sons, Robert Warren Dyer (Tonya Jackson) and Michael Ray Dyer (wife, Tracy); brothers Billy Eugene Howell and Gregory Howell (wife, Liz); sisters Juanita Shepherd and Jean Adams (husband, Ronald); grandchildren, Allie Dyer, Andrew Dyer (wife, Morgan), Austin Dyer, Leighanne Dyer and Logan Dyer and her sweet dog, Rocky, who brought her great joy.
Family will host a memorial gathering and reception from 5:00-7:00 pm Monday, October 15, 2018, at Moraine City First Church of God, 5867 Springboro Pike, Dayton, OH 45449. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 pm also at the church and officiated by Pastor Donald Curtis
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Moraine City First Church of God. Written condolences may be shared with the family by visiting Bulah's online memorial at www.NewcomerDayton.com.
