Bruce A. Banzhof, age 76 of Xenia, Ohio after recovering from several strokes, passed away in his sleep on June 24, 2022. He was born September 6, 1945 in Springfield, Ohio son of the late Robert and Helen Banzhof.
Bruce graduated from Springfield High School then went on to get a Bachelors degree from Whittenburg University. He attended post graduate School in Colorado in Physics. After school he taught for a number of years at Clark County Schools. After teaching, Bruce went on to become a Respiratory Therapist for several Hospitals and Nursing Homes.
Bruce worked under Homeland Security for FEMA and he assisted in training with evacuation shelters, community relations, and in special needs situations. His hobbies included him being active in a Historical reenactment group, including anything archery related and making armor. Bruce was also an active reader. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffery B. Banzhof of Florida.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 26 years, Linda Banzhof; sons, Nathaniel (Adrienne) Banzhof and Jeremy (Sarah) Banzhof both of Ohio; grandchildren, Lydia, Eleanor, and Nadia; brother, Mark (Rita) Banzhof of Washington; brother-in-laws, Phil and Tom Baggett both of Florida; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at 11am at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
A gathering will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022 from 200pm to 300pm at Newcomer Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will begin at 3pm also at the Funeral Home.
