Brilla "Dean" Franklin
Age 94 of Kettering, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 11, 2016. Dean was born June 25, 1921 in Livingston, TN to the late Millie Jane (Bilbrey) Franklin and Perry L. Franklin. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Johnie Franklin, sister, Clemma (Franklin) Poston, nephew, Johnie Franklin, Jr., nieces Sandra (Hembree) Meuret, Debbie (Hembree) Pugh, great nephew, Miles Harmon, and great-great nephew, PJ Jacaruso.
Dean is survived by her sister, Sarah (Franklin) Hembree, nieces and nephews Billy (Joyce) Poston, Jerry and Barb (Poston) Clark, Sherrie Hancock, Jimmie (Libby) Franklin, 22 great, 24 great-great, and 13 great-great-great nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends.
Dean retired as a supervisor at the Defense Electronics Supply Center in Kettering, Ohio after 35 years of service. She loved people, fishing, history and traveled around the world to countries in Europe, Asia, South America, and Australia. Dean was faithful in caring for her mother for many years. She was loved by her family and friends and will be remembered for her kind heart and positive attitude. Special thanks to all those who assisted in her care.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 6:00 pm at the Newcomer Funeral Home in Kettering, Ohio. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
Further services will be held at Speck Funeral Home in Livingston TN. Burial will be in Okalona Cemetery.
