Brian Douglas Lewis

Brian Douglas Lewis, born on September 15, 1967, in Kettering, Ohio, passed away on March 8, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio. He was a beloved father, son, brother, and friend, who left an indelible mark on the lives of those who knew him.

In his younger years, Brian began his career at Heidi Honda, where he honed his skills and work ethic. Following this, he took the entrepreneurial path to manage his own lawn care business for several years. Brian’s dedication to his work reflected his resilient spirit, especially in light of the health challenges he faced later in life, including colorectal cancer and degenerative disk disease. Despite these adversities, he maintained a positive outlook, demonstrating an admirable strength of character.

Brian received his General Education Development (GED) diploma, which marked not just an educational achievement but also illustrated his commitment to self-improvement. Beyond his professional and educational pursuits, he had a deep love for music, particularly enjoying playing the electric guitar. Although he could not read music, he taught himself to play by ear, embracing the joys of rock and heavy metal music. His passion for music became a significant part of his identity.

A devout individual, Brian found solace in his faith. He cherished reading the Bible and studying scripture, often dedicating hours each day to recite and memorize passages. This deep connection to his faith was evident in the well-loved pocket-sized Bible he carried with him everywhere.

Brian's love for family was profound. He was immensely proud of his daughter, Brittany Nicole Lewis, often expressing his affection and admiration for her. His relationship with his parents, Thomas Joseph Lewis and Carol Anne Lewis, as well as with his brother, Frederick Steven Cairo, was a cornerstone of his life, providing both support and love throughout his journey.

Brian’s affection extended to his pets as well, where he found companionship and joy. He adored his German shepherd, Louis, who was a cherished member of the family during his formative years. In his later years, he welcomed two lovebirds named Shadow and Boo into his life, with Boo continuing to reside with his parents, Tom and Carol.

Brian Douglas Lewis will be remembered for his unwavering positivity, deep love for his family, and his enduring passions. His legacy of gratitude for life's simple joys and his devotion to his loved ones will continue to inspire those who had the honor of knowing him.

Family will be holding a private celebration of life for Brian.
