Brian Steven "Dewey" Howar, age 41 of Huber Heights, lost his battle with life-long illness on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. Brian was born in Dayton, OH on September 29, 1976 to proud parents, Christina and Steven Howar. "Dewey", as he was affectionately known, graduated from Vandalia-Butler High School in 1996. In Brian's free time he enjoyed playing video games and watching movies. He had a great love for comics, super heroes, and Star Wars. He had a passion for science, nature, and the supernatural. Brian was a passionate Ohio State football and Cleveland Browns fan. He loved to cheer his teams on to victory.
Brian was a kind, caring, and compassionate husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Brian was preceded in death by his mother, Christina Howar; and grandparents, Elwood and Patricia Howar and William and Bernice Weaver.
Brian leaves to cherish his memory, loving wife, Krissy Howar; children, Collin (Shana) Belcher, Parker Belcher, and Thaddeus Howar; granddaughter, Briella Belcher; father, Steven Howar; sister, Heather Howar; nieces, Olivia Howar, Theodosia Odon, Makaela Howar, special friends, Johnny Roberts and Sean Howar; loyal canine companions, Yoda and Bear; and several other loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of wonderful friends.
The family requests that Brian's love for superheroes be honored at his services by everyone wearing their favorite superhero shirt.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Newcomer - North Chapel from 5pm - 8pm. A Celebration of Brian's life will be held the following day, Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Newcomer at 11am. Burial to follow at Willow View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the family to set up a trust for Thaddeus and Briella.
