Brenda Louise Zackery

Brenda Louise Clinkscales Zackery, was born to Alzada nee' Hightower and Dillard Clinkscales on August 29, 1947 in Dayton, Ohio. She departed this life on September 28, 2022, with her family by her side.

Brenda's younger years were spent faithfully attending Bethel Baptist, New Hope Missionary Baptist, and Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Dayton, Ohio where she sang in the choir.

Brenda was a member of Roosevelt High School Class of 1965. She graduated from Central State University with a B.S. in Elementary Education, and an M.S. in Supervision of Education from the University of Dayton.

Brenda's teaching career included teaching at Trotwood Madison City Schools, Dayton Public City Schools, and Dayton Adult Basic Education Classes. Brenda retired from teaching after 32 years in the educational workforce.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Dillard and Alzada Clinkscales, and a daughter Twalla Foster. Left to cherish her memory and celebrate her legacy are her husband Alphonso "Butch" Zackery, her children Cal (Tosha) Foster, III and Culpatrice Foster; grandchildren Keith-Sean, Devin, Cameron Foster, and LaRashia S. Edwards; great-grandchildren Ava, Brooklyn, and Lia; step-children Kenneth Lucky, Jennifer (Alonzo) Dolby and Marcus Bracey, and a host of relatives and friends.

Her loss will be felt by many relatives, friends, and colleagues.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 7, 2022, 10:00 - 11:00 am with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 am at the Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - North Chapel, Dayton, Ohio. Pastor Timothy Newkirk will be officiating.

Interment will follow at West Memory Gardens, 6722 Hemple Road, Moraine, Ohio.
