Brenda J. Caudill

Brenda J. Caudill, 65, of Dayton, Ohio died Friday evening, September 15, 2017 after a short stay at Hospice of Dayton. She was born August 13, 1952 in Dayton to Raymond and Doris (Radford) Garner. She was preceded in death by her father Raymond, and her dear friend Vivian Rowe. She is survived by her husband Michael; son Patrick – the light of her life; stepson/nephew Benjamin (Deanna); grandchildren Bryce and Lauren; mother Doris; brothers Larry, Bruce (Faith) and Robert; sisters Rebecca (Don) Peters and JoAnn (David) Mintz; and many other friends and relatives who will miss her deeply – including Katie, Chloe and many other nieces and nephews, and aunts, uncles and cousins, spread across many states. While she was not a STEM whiz (an algebra professor once gave her a "B" only after she promised never to take another Math class), Brenda had an outstanding talent and uncanny ability to understand, sympathize and emphasize with everyone she met. She once answered a wrong-number on the telephone, and wound up talking to her new friend regularly for years; and, when she was hospitalized in a room with a sad, lonely woman who wanted only to talk to her mother, but couldn't reach the telephone, Brenda gave her the new cell phone she had just received, so she could talk to her mother whenever she wanted. The world will be a lesser place with Brenda gone, a little sadder for those who never got to know her. In lieu of flowers, don't make an anonymous donation. Rather, find a sad, lonely, scared person who needs a helping hand – and do something to make their life a little better. It may take a little more effort than making a donation, but you can still make Brenda proud – as we have always been proud of her. Services will be at Newcomer Funeral Home, Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, OH 45432; Sunday, September 24.
