Bonnie L. Martin, age 77, of Union, Ohio passed away December 2, 2024 at Hospice of Dayton. Bonnie was a graduate of Beavercreek High School Class of 1965 and helped coordinate the BHS 1965 Ladies Luncheons with her high school friends. She worked as an accountant for various companies over the years throughout the Dayton area. She retired from Wolf Creek Company after 25 years of service. Bonnie was a member of the Dayton Area Board of Realtors and most recently sold for Keller Williams Home Town Realty. She also served as the President of the Polish National Alliance Lodge 1935 for the past 40 years, as well as the President of the Polish National Alliance Council 96 for the past 26 years. She was the first female officer to be voted to the Board of Directors of the Polish Club. In addition to being a lifetime member of the Polish Club, she was also an active member of American Legion Post 707, and a member of the Irish Club. Bonnie loved fishing, playing cards, karaoke, University of Dayton Basketball, Cleveland Browns Football, and telling stories and laughing it up with family and friends. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren and tried to attend every play, recital, sporting event, and special occasion. They were her heart. Her favorite day of the year was Christmas Eve, when her house was filled with her family and infectious laughter.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Bessie Peck, brother, Daniel Silvers, and infant daughter, Tracy Lynn. She is survived by her daughters, Teresa (Ken) Ostendorf, Denise (Dan) Gerhard, as well as the loves of her life, her grandchildren, Joe (Carly) Ostendorf, Emily (Dallas) Cassel, Aaron (Annika) Gerhard, Danielle Ostendorf, and Ashley Gerhard, and her darling great grandchildren, Marlee, Isaac, and Madeline; Many nieces, nephews, and cousins, especially Jerry Townsend, and dear friends Gary Kreitzer, who had been like a brother to her, and Donna Barker; former husband of 45 years, Henry Martin, and loving companion, Seamus Nicholson.
Public visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio on Thursday December 12, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. There will be a funeral mass at Transfiguration Church, 972 S. Miami Street, West Milton, Ohio at 10:30 a.m. Friday December 13, 2024. Burial will be at a later date.
