Bonita Lorraine (Gilbert) Barnes passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on March 13, 2021.
Bonnie was born September 17, 1943 in Dayton, Ohio to Marian and Walter Gilbert Sr.
Bonnie had previously lost her parents, her brother Richard and her beloved best friend and sister Patricia.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years Thomas Barnes Sr and their 3 children Robin (Ron) McCaslin of Cincinnati, Thomas Barnes Jr of New Carlisle and Tony (Donna) Barnes of Springfield.
Grandchildren Amber Hughes, Toni Barnes, Ryan Barnes, Alex Rin McCaslin, Sarah Barnes, 14 great-grandchildren, 21 nieces and nephews.
Bonnie is also survived by sister Phyliss Gehring, brother Walter Gilbert Jr (Mary Lynn), sister Margaret Mason, sister Rose Love and brother Howard Gilbert.
In 1969 Bonnie & Tom moved to New Carlisle from Dayton to raise their family and start a successful window cleaning business. They worked together side-by-side in the field for many years until she moved to managing the business side full-time.
Bonnie's pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was continually active in their upbringing and daily lives.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd. Dayton, OH 45424. Friends and family may visit from 1:00pm until the time of service.
The State of Ohio is under a mandatory mask order and has required that face mask will be worn in all public places.
