Bobby Joe Oakes

Bobby Joe Oakes, passed away at the age of 74 in Godley, Texas. A longtime resident of Dayton, Ohio until he moved to be with his daughter in Godley, Texas.

Bobby was born in Dayton, Ohio on April 13, 1949 to the late Coleman and Alberta Oakes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two siblings and several nieces and nephews. He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Oakes Coker & her husband, John Coker; son, Bobby Joe Oakes; sister, Linda Oakes Hawkins; two granddaughters, Alex Oakes and Allison Oakes; and six great grandchildren.

Bobby enjoyed time with friends and working on classic cars. He especially enjoyed his 1988 Chevy pickup. Bobby could often be found at flea markets working on the best deal. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Family and friends will gather from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road. A graveside service will immediately follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
