Bobby R. Barlow, age 78 of Centerville, passed away August 27, 2020. He was born on December 24, 1941 in Jackson County, TN to the late Herbert and Elizabeth Barlow. In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his son, Chris Barlow.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 50 years, Carrie Barlow; children, Jeannetta Lewis, Vernadean Jackson and Rebecca Barlow; grandchildren, John Scearce Jr., Kelab Archer, Nina Henderson, Leslie Henderson and Kayla Jackson; great grandchildren, Adeline Sparks, Jamison Scearce and Cole Archer; numerous cousins, extended family and dear friends.
Bobby loved watching old westerns, eating ice cream and watching sports. He served faithfully at Gateway Baptist Church in Eaton, OH.
Bobby and Carrie met at Sherwood Twin Drive Inn on West Third Street, when Carrie went to apply for a job there. Needless to say, Carrie got the job and the man. They went on to marry in 1970 in front of the Carillon Bells during a huge wedding. Bobby and Carrie owned the Donut Shop on West Third St. for many years. He worked and retired from DP&L after 50 years of service as a head surveyor. Bobby also was employed with Speedway on Needmore Rd. for a short amount of time. He delivered newspapers in Trotwood as a part time gig to keep him busy. Bobby completed the inside construction on a home they were having built, including the electricity, drywall and installation.
