Billy Smith

Billy Smith, 82, of Dayton, passed away December 22, 2016. Billy was born in Fentress County, TN on February 24, 1934 to the late Paul and Alta Smith. Billy was a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of Northridge Freewill Baptist Church and proudly served in the US Army. In his free time he enjoyed making anything he could with wood.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul Smith, Jr., Gene (Mildred) Smith, Jimmy (Lulu Rae) Smith; sisters, Evelyn Vaughn; and sister in law, Alice Gibson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Myra Smith; sons, Darrell (Kristy) Smith, Bradley Smith; daughters, Myra (Bruce) Willis, Cheryl Jones, Sheila (Mike) Johnson, Kimberly (TR) Barnett; grandchildren, Brandy (Terry) Skluzak, Brittany Smith, Karly Smith, Patience Stearns, Mallie Smith, Andy (Danielle) Bierer, Billy Dixon, Alicia (Mike) Baumgardner, Scott (Danielle) Johnson, Michael (Angie) Johnson, Heather (Roy) Burger, Trey (Alyssa) Barnett, Kaleigh Barnett, great grandchildren, Brayden, Brianna, Tristan, Sadie, Madison, Aliyah, Mason, Avery, Maddie, Ava, Lylah, Presley, Ava Grace; sister in laws, Elizabeth (Bruce) Kilby, Jimmie Sue Crockett; and several other relatives and special friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 5-8pm at Northridge Freewill Baptist Church, 4800 Payne Ave, Dayton, where funeral services will be held on Friday, December 30, 2016 at Northridge Freewill Baptist Church at 11am with Pastor Tim Hamilton officiating. Burial at Poplar Hill Cemetery in Vandalia.
